TRAVEL TO MOVIES: ALLIED

Director: Robert Zemeckis
Cast: Brad Pitt , Marion Cotillard , Jared Harris , Matthew Goode , Lizzy Caplan
Plot: Set in 1942 during World War II in Casablanca, French-Canadian spy Max Vatan falls in love and marries French agent Marianne Beausejour, but he is then notified that his wife might be a Nazi spy.

My Movie Review: The movie is tasteful brings back the old Hollywood feels and glamour. Allied is a slow-paced romance thriller that captures the beauty of 1942 French Morrocco with top notch production values and gorgeous cinematography. Brad Pitt never gets old his still the handsome charismatic character you'll like to see that gives solid performance. Marion Cotillard intensify each scenes with her facial expression and she control the story. Too bad it was cut short never gets out long enough but should have been great for more.
My Favorite Character: Marianne Beauséjour

Marianne Beausejour, a Resistance fighter played by Marion Cotillard. The story is rich in details but simple enough: Max and Marianne have been paired up, sight unseen, to pose as a couple in Casablanca and assassinate the German ambassador. Marianne sits at a table with a silk jacket and an hummingbird draped over her chair. Max's long look and Marianne's dazzling smile tell us they're already in love. We are rooting for them every step of the way in "Allied," Robert Zemeckis' grand salute to the classic films of the 1940's.

Glass Sky Bridge- The Tube
No overheard bridge for the entire stretch of Orchard Road until 26 April 2014 when Orchard Gateway was officially open, together with the glass sky-bridge you see in the above picture! 3D artwork always injects an element of fun to a place and this particular art piece was aptly designed for the bridge! Curvature glass panes that gave the bridge its eye catching body really hats off to those designers the bridge must have cost a bomb!

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM

Director: David Yates
Cast: Eddie Redmayne , Colin Farrell , Ron Perlman , Ezra Miller , Katherine Waterston , Dan Fogler , Jon Voight , Alison Sudol , Carmen Ejogo , Samantha Morton , Jenn Murray
Plot: 70 years before Harry Potter reads his books while enrolled at Hogwarts, wizard Newt Scamander's tales - which he penned to paper - are brought to life as the writer's adventures in New York's secret community of witches and wizards and his discovery of magical creatures are depicted.

My Movie Review: The movie is worthy spin-off, pleasure to return to the wizarding world. Fantastic Beasts delivers exactly the title promises; all of the monsters have personality that's fun to watch truly fantastic. The film is at most dazzling when it's exploring magical creatures with wizardry and witchcraft that cast spells. The setting happens in 1920's New York but some characters gave more European Flair with their steam-punk clothing's style.
My Favorite Lines: "We're going to recapture my creatures before they get hurt. They're currently in alien terrain surrounded by millions of the most vicious creatures on the planet; humans." "Mr. Scamander, do you know anything about the wizarding community in America? We don’t let things loose." "You’re not just a man, Mr. Scamander, just like your suitcase. I think there’s much to you than meets the eye. Kicked out of Hogwarts for dangering human life with a beast, yet one of your teachers argued strongly against your expulsion. I wonder, what makes your Albus Dumbledore so fond of you, Mr. Scamander?'

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: FALLEN

Director: Scott Hicks
Cast: Addison Timlin , Jeremy Irvine , Joely Richardson , Harrison Gilbertson , Lola Kirke
Plot: Lucinda Price can see "shadows", and she has owned this ability for as long as she remembers. Her latest incident with the shadows has caused the death of a boy and she becomes the prime suspect of the murder. Because of this, she is sent to a reform school where she meets two mysterious boys: Daniel, an angry student who wants nothing to do with her, and Cameron, an outgoing guy who is attracted to Lucinda. Though Lucinda is also attracted to the boys, she is more drawn towards Daniel, who turns out to be an angel that has loved her for thousands of years.

My Movie Review: The movie is falling into pieces half-baked leaving unsatisfying feeling. Fallen is such a bad imitation of Twilight Saga it tries too much to the point it doesn't work. The success of a romantic film depends on perfect timing but this one come in wrong time. Seeing the trailer it's good while the whole movie was over the place didn't find it's footing. Hoping the next movies from the series will give justice and be true to the book adaptions.
My Favorite Character: Lucinda "Luce" Prince

Lucinda "Luce" Price is the main protagonist of the Fallen series. In Fallen Luce was sent to the Sword & Cross when she was suspected of being  involved in an incident with a mysterious fire, killing her boy crush, Trevor. There she met Daniel Grigori, Arriane Alter, Gabrielle Givens, Cameron Briel, Todd Hammond, Randy and a lot of another characters. At the end of the book, she discovered that most of the boys and girls in that school are fallen angels and demons, and that "Luce" has been reincarnated every seventeen years.

Cast: Lewis MacDougall , Liam Neeson , Sigourney Weaver , Felicity Jones , Toby Kebbell , Geraldine Chaplin , Ben Moor , Frida Palsson , Jennifer Lim , Wanda Opalinska
Plot: Every night, 13 year-old Conor is visited by the Monster- yew tree from his backyard that transforms into a terrifying figure come midnight. It warns Conor that it will tell him three stories and will then want something true from him in return. Conor's nights may be haunting but his days are not any better. His mother's health is rapidly deteriorating while at school he is the target of merciless bullies.

My Movie Review: The movie is heart-wrenching the struggle got real in losing someone. It's hard to tackle this subject cause painful to think how someone get through with that no one can't really tell you what to do. Lewis MacDougall is such a powerful young actor his emotions make the movie more compelling and moving. The visual of the giant reminds me fantasy world of The BFG which was a dream while this A Monster Calls was a nightmare!!
My Favorite Lines: "There was once an invisible man who had grown tired of being unseen. It was not that he was actually invisible, it was just that people had become used to not seeing him. One day the invisible man couldn’t stand it anymore. He kept wondering if no one sees you are you really there at all. He called for a monster." "I know everything about you, Connor O’Malley. The truth you dream, the truth that you hide." "That tree is amazing. It’s been here for thousands of years." With a boy, too old to be a kid, too young to be a man." "Connor I wish I had a hundred years, a hundred years I could give to you."

Plot: A socially-weird government accountant may be mild-mannered during the day but after hours, he moonlights as a highly trained assassin.

My Movie Review: The movie is oddly present combination of boring and interesting stuff. Ben Affleck become one of the most celebrated actors in Hollywood having new movies in recent years over again with compelling roles to portray that I surely follow in the cinemas. The Accountant is very powerful in sending message about autism and how parents raise us affects what will be like when we grown up. The mystery unfolds when the accountant became the hitman start shooting people leading up to his brother while some investigate.
My Favorite Character: Christian Wolff

Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) is a math savant with more affinity for numbers than people. Behind the cover of a small-town CPA office, he works as a freelance accountant for some of the world’s most dangerous criminal organizations to hide dirty money. Wolff agrees to help an accounting clerk at a robotics firm (Anna Kendrick) look into fraud at her company, but the assignment will prove slit far more dangerous than he could have ever anticipated.

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: JACK REACHER: NEVER GO BACK

Director: Edward Zwick
Cast: Tom Cruise , Cobie Smulders , Danika Yarosh , Patrick Heusinger , Robert Knepper
Plot: Jack Reacher returns to the headquarters of his old unit only to find out that he is now accused of a 16-year-old homicide. As he attempts to connect with a female military investigator, he ends up being paired with Samantha Dayton. Reacher realises she just may be his daughter.

My Movie Review: The movie is classic action adapted from best-selling novel explodes. Tom Cruise delivers hard punch that's fun to watch and justified fight scenes worth seeing. Though the first Jack Reacher felt strong compare to this one with less impact in storyline. Cobie Smulders is too cold for the role I wish her character show more feminine side since we all know her being tough commander. Keeping the balance was the potential daughter that needs protection making this family affair in the middle of New Orleans night parades.
My Favorite Lines: "You think you're above the law but I'm not the law so you should start running because I'm going to start hunting and when I find you I'm going to kill you all." "Sorry he's not feeling well. You might want to use this one" "It's the haircut. All you guys go to the same barber?" "Why do I get the feeling that you're enjoying this? You have very interesting way saying thank you. "Who the hell are you? I’m the guy you didn’t count on. "I need your help they killed. Someone’s killing soldiers used to be under your command."

TRAVEL TO PLACES: SINGAPORE BUGIS HAJI LANE

My Personal Experience: I went to Bugis Haji Lane last year August 15, 2015, together with my sister and her husband. We went there to stroll up Kampong Glam to find cool stuff not knowing what's in store for us. Bugis Haji Lane is full of boutique antic shops and authentic restaurants that is both delictable in taste and easy in the eye such a must-see!!

Bugis Haji Lane
Haji Lane is in the Kampong Glam neighbourhood of Singapore. Young people frequent the shophouses along this lane for the independent fashion boutiques and Middle Eastern cafes. Haji Lane got its name because of the businesses. There were many Arab pilgrim-brokers who would arrange the haj for Muslims in Singapore and from the nearby islands.
